Depot Street Meats and Dairy is the farm store for L.D. Farms, a 40 acre family farm in Jay, Maine. Everything they sell is raised right there on the farm. The animals are pasture raised and grass-fed, including a herd of Belted Galloway cattle, Katahdin sheep, and heritage poultry.

They also run a licensed dairy with registered Guernsey goats, which they use to make raw milk products like mozzarella, yogurt, kefir, and chèvre. That makes this one of the few places in western Maine where you can buy grass-fed meat and raw dairy from the same family.

Our tip: They’ll set aside organ meats, tenderloin, brisket, and other specific cuts if you ask at least a day ahead. It’s a great way to get liver and heart from animals you know were raised right.
