Baking soda is one of the most useful things you can keep in the house. It cleans, deodorizes, and bakes, and it replaces a whole cabinet of harsh chemical cleaners.

How we use it: Mixed with vinegar for scrubbing sinks and tubs, sprinkled in the fridge to keep it fresh, and of course in baking.
Good to know: For a simple scrub, mix baking soda with a little water to make a paste. It works on most surfaces without scratching.
