Golden Valley Farms is an Amish family farm near Farmville that raises registered Guernsey cows and dairy goats using rotational grazing. The family follows Weston A. Price principles, and their cows are A2/A2 and grass-fed, with no antibiotics or growth hormones.
Members can get raw cow and goat milk along with a wide range of raw dairy, including cheese, butter, cream, and yogurt. Virginia doesn’t allow raw milk to be sold directly, so farms offer herd shares instead. You buy a share of the herd, pay a monthly boarding fee for the animals’ care, and receive milk from the cows you co-own.
Golden Valley delivers to around 28 drop points, including Richmond, Fairfax, Reston, Vienna, and Sterling, so you don’t have to live near Farmville to join.
Our tip: If you’ve never had Guernsey milk, you’re in for a treat. It’s rich, golden, and a favorite for making butter.
