Panther Branch Farms is a family run herdshare dairy in Benson, south of Raleigh, raising mostly Jersey cows with daily pasture access. They make it easy for Triangle families to get raw milk, with pickups at the farm most days of the week and a weekly pickup in Raleigh.

In North Carolina, a herdshare is the legal way to get raw milk. You buy a share of the herd, pay a boarding fee to cover the animals’ care, and in return you receive milk from the animals you co-own. Members choose a half gallon or a gallon a week, can add butter, yogurt, and eggs, and can skip a week with notice. The farm tests its milk weekly and runs the program from January through October.
