Jersey Bell Farm sits right on Route 96 near Waterloo, between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes. The farm keeps an all Jersey herd that’s 100% grass-fed and A2, with free choice minerals, seasonal pasture, and no hormones or antibiotics.
Raw milk runs about $8 a gallon or $4 a half gallon, sold from a self serve stand. New York allows raw milk to be sold only on the farm where it’s produced, and only by farms holding a state raw milk permit. Permitted farms are inspected and have their milk sampled and tested by the state, and they post a sign letting customers know the milk is unpasteurized.
Our tip: Visitors are welcome to see the barn and the cows. It’s an easy stop if you’re touring the Finger Lakes wineries along Route 96.
