Remembrance Farm is a certified organic and biodynamic farm in Trumansburg, near the west side of Cayuga Lake. Its herd of about 30 Ayrshire, Jersey, and Shorthorn cows is 100% grass-fed, and the cows also supply the fertility for the farm’s well known vegetable fields.
Raw milk is offered as a seasonal subscription, with a half gallon of creamline milk each week picked up at the farm. New York allows raw milk to be sold only on the farm where it’s produced, and only by farms holding a state raw milk permit. Permitted farms are inspected and have their milk sampled and tested by the state, and they post a sign letting customers know the milk is unpasteurized.
Our tip: Spots are limited and the season runs on a set schedule, so check their website early to see when sign ups open.
