Crystal Valley Creamery is a certified organic dairy near Dundee, close to the southwest shore of Seneca Lake. The herd is 100% grass based and moves through the pasture with rotational grazing.
The creamery offers both raw and pasteurized milk, so be sure to ask for raw at the farm. New York allows raw milk to be sold only on the farm where it’s produced, and only by farms holding a state raw milk permit. Permitted farms are inspected and have their milk sampled and tested by the state, and they post a sign letting customers know the milk is unpasteurized.
Our tip: Call ahead to confirm raw milk is available, and try their cheese and ice cream while you’re there.
