Finch Family Farm is run by Dakota Finch, an Air Force veteran, and Courtney Kimble, who started the farm in 2017 and are raising four kids on it. Their herd of about 48 milking cows is certified organic by NOFA NY and certified grass-fed.
The milk is bottled every day and tested weekly. New York allows raw milk to be sold only on the farm where it’s produced, and only by farms holding a state raw milk permit. Permitted farms are inspected and have their milk sampled and tested by the state, and they post a sign letting customers know the milk is unpasteurized.
The farm stand also carries their grass-fed beef, pastured pork, chicken, and eggs, so it’s an easy way to stock up on animal based staples in one trip.
Our tip: Marathon sits right off I-81 between Syracuse and Binghamton, so the farm stand makes a great road trip stop.
