Sunny Cove Farm is a third generation family farm in Alfred Station, run by Kelby and Kristina Snyder. The family went organic in 2002 and grass-fed in 2016, and they’ve held a raw milk permit since 2006. Today they care for about 40 dairy cows on 350 acres.
Raw milk is sold in half gallon glass jars at the farm store, with a raw milk CSA for regulars. New York allows raw milk to be sold only on the farm where it’s produced, and only by farms holding a state raw milk permit. Permitted farms are inspected and have their milk sampled and tested by the state, and they post a sign letting customers know the milk is unpasteurized.
Our tip: Call to reserve your jars before you head out, especially on weekends.
