🐄 What’s Available
- Raw milk, about $6 a gallon or $4 a half gallon
- Eggs and pasture fed beef
- Gelato and cheese curds made from their milk
- Tallow and goat milk soaps
Country Cousins Farm in Evans Mills, just north of Watertown, has been run by Stan and Sharon Horning since 1993. The cows are milked twice a day, and the farm is a stop on the Cabot Farm Trail.
Raw milk is sold from a self serve store next to the dairy barn, and you can pay with cash, PayPal, or Venmo. New York allows raw milk to be sold only on the farm where it’s produced, and only by farms holding a state raw milk permit. Permitted farms are inspected and have their milk sampled and tested by the state, and they post a sign letting customers know the milk is unpasteurized.
Our tip: Call ahead if you need three gallons or more. And don’t skip the gelato made from their own milk.
