Description
Diamond Crystal has been around since 1886, and it’s the kosher salt many chefs prefer. It’s pure salt with no additives, and the hollow, light crystals are easy to pinch and spread evenly over food.
The flakes dissolve quickly, so they season meat evenly and are hard to overdo. This box is 3 pounds, which will last a long time in most kitchens.
How we use it: Salting steaks and roasts ahead of time. It’s our everyday cooking salt.
Good to know: Diamond Crystal is much lighter than table salt or other kosher salts. If a recipe calls for table salt, you’ll need to use more to get the same saltiness.
